A voluntarily built documentary project about Finnishness in the 21st century.

'CHALLENGE YOUR ASSUMPTIONS - WE ARE MORE ALIKE THAN WE ARE DIFFERENT.'

Finnishness is built from different experiences: difficulties and victories, hopes and challenges. Samanarvoisten Suomi (Equal Finland) tells a story of a hundred Finns - all completely different, and all similarly Finnish.

In 2017 Finland celebrated its 100 years of independence. However, there was a distortion in the discourse of "Finnishness" in media. The aim of this project was to reduce prejudices by shedding light on all the different variations of what it really means to be Finnish in the 21st century. All of the interviews can be found on an online gallery and they include stories of a deaf rap-artist, a lesbian priest, an immigrant, a HIV positive person, and a former prisoner.

'Samanarvoisten Suomi - Equal Finland' became a part of the official Finland 100 -program, and was also published into a book.
